My new map Vctf-Orient-Battle is ready after lotz of work. It is the final tested version and works well. Now i will start makin all betas to final versions. Added. However, the name of the map in the archive was 0RIENT-battle. This messes up alphabetic sorting, so I've renamed it to Orient-Battle, as you refer to it here.

Just tried it online, nice map :)

but why do you have to sprezzle all of your maps with (iterative) sounds? may you make an additional sound file (.ogg) instead of it?

What an ogg file works online on a server? I thought that only works if u convert it to .it-file and import and save it as music. When that works so easy u make me very happy.  :) ;)

Well, i actually have no clue about modding/mapping in UT nor do I know how to manage it with the server  :(

I'm just looking for a way to decide client-side about on/off  of the backround music, if there is no way to get this, let it how it is. I'ts more a question of taste and not really important for the gameplay :)

The .ogg file isn't pushed online, so its no use in putting the file in the redirect. All clients that want the music have to dl it manually to hear it, and if you distribute it you have to include the .ogg in the zip. Still I suggest that you use .ogg for music and sound actors only for environment sounds. Many people play with music, weather effects etc turned off, and they get pissed if you force it on them. Turning ambient sounds off client side removes the music, but allso kill a lot of other sounds. Using .ogg at least give people the option to dl it themselves or not, and if there are someone who really want the music but are too lazy to dl it they only have themselves to blame. :)

Hm i will try out using a ogg file in a future map. So ppl can deside to download them. But that there is no way to get ambient sound in easy in a map and safe it into map is a bit shit. I heard or read some that the ut makers dont made that function cause they where afraid that custom maps get to big then. But dunno if thats true. I tryed myself to import music files from modul plug player/tracker but faild. Anyway its easy to import sound files but that 1 always start new when u respawn or jump in a vehicle so u cant use it really as ambient sound cause that gets anoying quick. 
For the map orient battle i will change the radius of the main song so its only hearable on to of roof and drop some more sounds in that make ambient better. I also fix some antiportals and blockingvolums that dont work like i planed it.  :) ;)

yeah, the music in battle is painful, and the speeches in 1945 have the same effect im afraid  :P

Btw anni it looks unlikely that im gunna have anything but afghanistan ready for the 'x-mas map pack' you planned. I have no idea what to do with aeolus apart from put the paladin back, and im still working on an alternative version of roadkill - which might not even be liked. Friad it looks like we'll have to forget about those maps for now. Im not getting any comments on the maps so i can't decide what to do. Tbh i like aeolus as it is in terms of layout, no idea about roadkill, so ill have to be like epic and say, 'they'll be done when they're done'.  :-\

And ill probably release the beta1 of subduction soon, hope it's well recieved.  :)

I have played roadkill some times yet and its a great map. The only thing i dont like is if many good ppl play in both teams it gets to hard to cap a flag with manta. U get mostly shot even b4 u come to the half of the map and the laser turrent on top does good job 2 + a bender on flag. Maby redropp the ammo for avril or replace avril so it gets harder to get it. Or make some more ramps or walls to use or hide with a manta. But thats only a quick opinion dont know if its good maby test it. Anyway i like roadkill its a very good map. For Aeolus i can only say its a cool map. I wont change much in it. Maby some for the eye sharks into the water if the fps wont suck then smile. Or u could add some more like 5hp and adrenalin to collect. ppl always like to collect things smile. Then u can go anywere in the map ,not for nun u get some. Smile  :) ;)
