Hi its me again. This time i made a new map and i wanted to ask ya guys if u upload it to ya server. Its a beta version so if some1 knows how to optimize it, i ll would b thankfull. hm on downloadpage its the 5th map from top, but i think ull find it yaself smile. I only reuploaded some older maps later so thats y the new map is place 5.

Yes. Spawnpoints are defunct, the default map gametype is set to something that's not VCTF, the terrain needs work... etc.
The biggest problem is that th game type is set to LMS, not VCTF, so u need to fix that little error before someone can upload it to a server. =)
Look like u have used blocking volumes and anti portals where it's possible, so fps-wise it cant be optimized more without changing the layout. Having a clear wiev between the flags isn't optimal imo, but that's a matter of taste I guess. You need to rearrange the spawns and lockers, spawns should never be more then an arm length away from a weapon locker. The doorways are too tight, and the area outside the doors on the base upper room are too narrow. Wipe the ladders. Ladders are boring and doesn't work very well in UT, replace them with lifts or jump pads and it would make the map 10 times better just by that.
Some more aestethical opinions: The walls in all the buildings are too thin, and plz cover up the bsp cuts (doors for example) somehow, use meshes or just cut it more nicely and use textures to give it more feel. Meshes are cheap on the fps btw.
Invisible walls surrounding the map feels very uninteresting. Use the terrain to build up a natural barrier instead, and add another texture layer to the terrain to give high and low ground different look. The stiff sky box dominates the map as it is too, covering it with some hills around the map will remedy that a little.
For more in-depth game play comments we have to wait until the huntsmen get a chance to try it online. ;)

well the map is better than canabisfields (what happened 2 that btw?) and it has potential, but needs work b4 u can call it final.
My main suggestions are:
1) add more interest 2 the terrain, maby a trench in the middle or something so the whole maps not completely flat.
2) as molgan said use a mine volume (see CTF-GrassyKnoll) or just steeper terrain to mark the edge of the map.
3) i dont use vehicles on this map cos theres nowhere 2 drive them, so make the map slightly wider and add some vehicle paths.
4) work on the lighting of the static meshes (trees mainly) and in the flag areas as both are too dark.
5) i agree with wiping the ladders, their now way to escape. I also found it hard to jump between the buildings because of their edges, but maby thats a good thing as it would slow down the carrier id he took that route. Also, bots were not v useful.

First of all THX for helpin me to get a better map. So now here is what i changed: I added more hills and holes to the terrain. I made the terrain around the map with some higher hills/mountains so the skyring dont domminates so much. I changed the blocking volum arround the map to a minefield. (also added some bad area shields to it= Static meshes) I added some more terrain painting layers. But for that: I left the main in desert texture cause its a desert and i like the look (u know like in egyptain war and sand is sand). Hope u guys agree. Ok then i changed the display light of the plants. Then i changed the Ladders to Jumppads with a nice sound. After that i dropped vehicle pathnodes in it and pathnodes for the bots. I watched the bots playin and it works well. I changed the shields in the lakes to Udamage and dropped the shields on the roof of the main base buildings. I changed the gametype to VCTF. I added some more adrenaline and 5hp thingis. Hope i dont missed some smile. Ok then it would b nice if u upload it for a test. But its still called Beta2 cause maby some1 finds some more. Yep the map feels more playable now, and the mine field fit well with the theme somehow. :) To get the game play tuned it need some online time, so if you not disagree I will up it on Apskaft server later today for test. One thing that hit me when I looked at it was the lack of ammo, it's good to be able to stack up before going for a cap.

Do I dare pimpin' Apskaft inhere or will I be punished for it? 8) Apskaft is a swedish ONS/VCTF server and the home of clan [ApA]. www.apskaft.com is both server ip and forum url.

Why would you want to, being a member of VM?
In any case, it's my advice to join up with the existing clans, or stay freelance. The scene is too small.
Well, I always fancied having my own clan, but I suppose with tPW, DUB, ApA and other big clans around it doesn't look like I would get many members. So I've really got a choice of staying with {V][M}, or staying with tPW. Or both.

Why dismiss DUB or ApA? You can't be in a VCTF clan and hunt with tPW anyway.
I don't want to dismiss them. They are probably the best VCTF clans. AND it would be nice to hunt with tPW, even with my natural lag. I don't know what to do.
Would b nice if u upload the map to VM server 2. Anyway its good if the map goes to many servers. I think if i meet admin of hedsteem server (WUP) it goes up there 2 like 5 maps b4. But again my question maby to annihilator 1 of the admins: Does TPW load the map up like it is now or should i change any more in the BETA2 for it?? :) ??? Cause that server i got a good ping 'n like to play alot.
