Can anyone tell me more about netcode?
A dude named .addiktioN. played on tPW and ^Ls^ servers with a minimum ping round 160.
He said he is from America and when I asked if he was cheating he answered 'learn more about netcode'.
When I followed him to the ^Ls^ server he was also being suspious and some ^Ls^ players also called 'm a cheater.
His SR and LG were too accurate imo. He wasn't unskilled, not at all. He would do great without his so being called net code.
When I asked him what he ment with netcode he said there is 0 ping and the person you click on will be hit. Sounds like cheats isnt it?
The time he was on the tPW server was round 21.30, monday, June 11 :-\
Netcode is the code used to generate, send and receive data between a client and server in multiplayer-games; its the network protocol and its implemantation to the game AFAIR.
I don't have any further knowledge about; it's not a cheat itself, but maybe you can manipulate it?
the guy is clearly refering to the enhanced netcode that tpw server has server side and its a feature of utcomb..this makes all people play like they have lower ping and be more accurate. Not 0 ping but it helps those high pingers (including me) a lot.
Heh ye,the guy was interesting
as a sidenote,i personally find it unplayable (constant )aim-wise past 150 ping.the shots and the results of them (more obvious at shock combos) are delayed very much. but that can be just isp matter or me.

Imo the netcode idd helps highpingers to use insta weapons, but it also has some side effects. One of it, as many must have discovered, is the trouble with linking manta while flying. Yo can't aim directly at manta's body, but rather at it's rear end to link. And the gameplay doesn't look steady if highpingers play against lowpingers. Lowpingers experience effects like shooting through the wall or around corners when hit by a highpinger's insta weapon. That's due to the delay of the hit data. You can disable the Enhanced netcode by opening the UTComp Menu with "F5" key, then going to the "Misc" tab and unchecking the lowest entry "Enable Enhanced Netcode". I'd recommend to do this for everyone, who's ping is below 50. And mantaruns will work as they should. ;)
Nice, that's interesting stuff - always wondered why the manta acted like that online
noted. might be useful to experiment with :)
